Ikebana Floral Design Workshop
…with Jean Angus.
Experience the beauty of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging. Unlike conventional floral design, Ikebana focuses on simplicity, balance, movement, and the natural beauty of each stem, branch, and bloom. Rather than filling a vase, Ikebana celebrates the relationship between the flowers and the surrounding space, creating a thoughtful work of living art.
During this workshop, Jean will guide participants through the fundamentals of Ikebana, including:
Step-by-step instruction on the Ikebana design process
How to create movement, balance, and harmony in an arrangement
Working with branches, pods, and other natural elements to complement your flowers

Past Event - Tuber Digging/Separating Workshop
Instead of a monthly meeting for October, we offer two in person workshops to help teach you how to dig and store your tubers.
Ron Miner's House
Date: October 18th at 10:00 am
Address: 8431 Tulip Ln. Chagrin Falls, OH 44023
Phone: 440-667-5085
Jess Becker's house (read carefully for full details)
Date: October 25th at 10:00 am.
Address: 3050 Lincoln Blvd. Cleveland Heights, OH 44118
Phone: 720-233-8713 (texting is best)
We’ll kick things off with a hands-on demonstration, and afterward, I’ll invite everyone to dig tubers directly from my beds to take home — I won’t be moving them this spring, so it’s a great chance to give them a new home.
I’ll also have a variety of garden supplies available for anyone who’s interested.
We’ll be accepting donations for both the tubers and the equipment, with all proceeds earmarked to support future cut-flower activities for the society. Suggested donations for clumps start at $10.
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing as both yards can be muddy if it's wet out.
